Consider this game.

1. Make terrorism in the middle east so brutal that thousands of moderate Muslims are willing to move to Europe.

2. Demonize Islam so the masses feel there is an enemy.

3. A perception of a local enemy by the masses makes "taxing the rich" and "attention to Israel" less of a political issue.

4. The Ultra Rich are able to continue controlling markets and commerce without interference.

    It's a pretty simplistic way to put it, but probably not far off the mark.
    SOMEBODY is buying over a million dollars of oil from IS every single day. SOMEBODY is selling them arms, vehicles and supplies.
    I'm sure not seeing any profit from all that, so I'm guessing there are a lot of rich people getting richer from all the killing.
    Almost every war in history was about money (in one way or another) and certainly all modern wars have been precipitated by wealthy men to gain more wealth; that's a fact.

    It's very possible. Whether they directly fund sectarian violence or simply manufacture the environment in which such violence thrives, it's certainly convenient in maintaining the status quo. And it's not just wealthy individuals who create and benefit from this complex, but Western media and governments etc.

    Not sure I believe the rich are smart enough to plan some grand conspiracy, but they're definitely smart enough to take advantage and fuel the fire of war for their benefit, if that's what you're saying.
