Is it normal to think that no one in the world makes mistakes except me?

i have never seen anyone make a mistake in the world and because i have never seen it, other than in myself, i believe that everyone is perfect and that i am the only flawed person in the world. This is the sole reason why i beat myself up and hate myself so much. is it normal to think this way?

Ditto. I just made a mistake about 15 minutes ago so I ripped it down and crumbled it into a ball. Then I made another, but I was able to just erase it.

No, I was trying to hint at the "I am lying now" self-contradiction. Maybe I should have had an extra question mark, as I was trying to say the same thing jeebley did.

  • I just feel like nothing I do is ever good enough that I am not good enough. I put everyone from the homeless person to the professor with a doctorate on a pedestal, I feel like everyone is so much more successful, smarter, beautiful than I am.....I feel inferior to everyone everywhere, all the time and that nothing I have ever done or will do is ever going to be good enough.

It is normal to think like that. But don't beat yourself for thinking that thing. You may not see it, but all of us make mistakes because NO ONE IS PERFECT. :)

I think it's easy to think that other people have got it all together, and that their lives are running smoothly, while you can easily see that your own life is flawed.
I can easily feel that I make a lot more mistakes than other people, and I probably do.

Thinking that no one else makes mistakes is unrealistic.

I would question whether it is true that "This is the sole reason why i beat myself up and hate myself so much." Could it be that you have a tendency to beat yourself up and hate yourself, which makes you create the distorted view of the world, that you are the only one who makes mistakes?

I know people who have built careers on making mistakes....anyone can make a mistake but it takes a big person to admit it...but getting to your question..it is somewhat normal but not healthy....most people just try their best and then que sera sera...so you beating yourself up is not good....

Don't you read other posts on here? It's the rare post that isn't full of misspellings and grammatical errors, even from supposedly "educated" people.
Don't beat yourself up so much, let your girlfriend do it; that's much more fun.

It's not normal, and if you feel like this you need to work on your self-esteem. No one is perfect, but the only way you will recognise this is through recognising that though you may have flaws, you have so many wonderful qualities. The beauty of being a relatable individual is acknowledging that you make mistakes, yet striving to improve. This does not purely apply to you, it applies to everyone. Don't forget that.
