Is it normal to think so deeply about race/skin color?

Every time I hear about something on the news race-related (Ferguson, SAE video, etc.) I get so fucking worked up. I get to the point where I'll be in tears thinking about how this world can be so fucking stupid.

If you really think about it, race is such pathetic thing for anyone to act negatively upon. It's the amount of melanin in you're skin... how is chemical causing so much hate? Race doesn't determine anything other than physical features. I just don't get it. That's like me hating blue eyed people. Why? Because they have blue eyes. That's my reasoning.

Fucking idiotic.

I'm not sure why some people can't see common sense. But I wasn't here to rant. I'm here to ask if it's normal that I, someone who is not directly affected by this, thinks about and gets so pissed off by it so much?

Thank you.

I know how you feel. No matter what skin colour or race you belong from, everyone should be nice to each other. Everyone should be treated equally. That way, everyone in this world would be in better place.

A lot of the time it's learned racism, even if they don't mean to be outright racist, although some people obviously do. Or sometimes it could be linked to racial history/stereotypes. People just don't seem to be able to make up their minds about what they think, they just go with what they've been socialized to believe.

A lot of people feel so terrible about themselves and their lot in life that they must find others who they can feel superior to. Obviously they can't do that with those of their own kind, especially the more successful ones, so they choose those they believe to be inferior based solely on the color of their skin, race or their religion.
