Is it normal to think romance is gross

I am EXTREMELY romance repulsed. I have actually stopped watching TV shows just because there was too much romance on it. When I see romance, I get a stomach ache. I wish every romantic love story was replaced with a non-romantic love story.

      I would love to. Know any TV shows or movies with no romance? I would love to watch those.

      Also, problem not solved. Most of my favorite shows have episodes with romance in them. And when I skip those episodes, I miss out on things like character development, funny jokes, plot points, or cute moments between my favorite pairings.

        So cute moments are okay? Isn't there something romantic about a cute moment? Unless I'm just misinterpreting that.

          not really. a relationship can be cute without being romantic. for example on Orphan Black, Sarah and Cosima are cute together af. They arent in a romance but they are adorable together.

        How much actual experience do you have with intimacy, dating, flirting etc? My guess is your personal discomfort manifests as 'getting grossed out' when you see it on tv.

          So your saying people get grossed out by romance before they experience it? I doubt it. If people thought romance was gross b4 they start dating, they wouldnt want to start dating.

    I don't see the point in romance but then again women aren't the most rational creatures I guess it has something to do with their emotions.

    it's perfectly normal to be romance-repulsed, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. it's just another way to experience the human condition! i'm sorry that it causes you so much discomfort, that really sucks, but please remember you don't have to change or feel like you're abnormal or "broken" in some way just because society places such an unusual precedence on romance. keep being you, friend; rock on!!! :)
