Is it normal to think nuclear war is imminent?

I know we've entered a new cold war but ever since Putin invaded Ukraine i've been sensing such undertones of this cold war potentially hotting up. I know about MAD, but in this day and age, with the powers that be, I think they would sacrifice the majority of the human race just to "save face". I'm still undecided as to who is the good guy, pretty sure none of them are. However, Putin is the most volatile and I am certain the minute he invades one bit of the baltics, NATO will send their troops in, and he will respond by nuking. I know that worrying is fruitless, but I do haha.

  • I have to be honest, I think it is also. We've fought 2 world wars already and fighting has been a part of our history. It's only a matter of time.

Russia has already made threats on a nuclear level. They have the weapons and anyone that interferes with them will be targeted. Through the USA's work with the Middle East, I don't think that there's much need for concern, unless ISIS manages to get ahold of nuclear weapons. I'm much more concerned about Russia, at the moment.

You're more likely to get taken out by a drunk driver or a backyard pool accident.

Why did they move the clock forward not one, but TWO minutes closer to midnight, then?
We're in denial at worst, apathetic at best :(

That's why I have a bunker with enough bourbon, rum and vodka to last a year.

In regards to the established nuclear powers, they all fully aware of the consequences of a nuclear war that will not only affect their enemies but the entire world.

My main concern is such weapons falling into the terrorist networks. My biggest concern is actually Pakistan the most vulnerable out of the nuclear countries where the North East of their country is controlled by the Pakistani Taliban and local militia groups in the Eastern provinces. Should their nuclear facilities fall to these entities we will be faced with a threat that is not only willing to use it but also take the entire world down with them.

The only ones stupid enough (Putin is an egocentric asshole, but he's not that stupid) to use nuclear weapons right now are the muslim radicals. That is why it is imperative that no nuclear material reach them.
Putin is just strutting around like a cock in the hen house, but he knows his nukes may not work and ours sure as hell will.

Exactly. The middle east nut jobs would not hesitate for a microsecond. If they had the opportunity to do it they would.

Russia and putin are too under equipped for an all out war with the U.S.involved they may get one or two nukes loose before we are able to demolish the rest our military capabilities far exceed Russia's it would be suicide for them plain and simple.
