Is it normal to think highly of myself reason explained... hope it's reasonable

I don't know. Maybe self-esteem is too high, but I don't think I'm a narcissist either (hope I'm not... I do experience a great deal of empathy for other which is a good sign I guess), but man there are so many "jerks" out there and worse people who are absolutely inhumane. I feel sad about this. But is it normal that I think I'm better than most people in basic kindness and humanity and I think a lot more highly of myself than many people but Not all?

  • Yes, it's normal to feel like you are the protagonist of your story.

It sounds bad to say but it shouldn't be difficult for even the average person to realize they're a better person than some of these characters.

It could go either way. I like to think I'm kind to people that I meet I try not to interrupt or be rude. But some people tend to call other people inhumane for having different outlooks on life like their religion or political beliefs.

I don't think it's normal to think highly of yourself just for having basic human decency. Yes a lot of people are shitheads but that doesn't make you better than anyone I mean everyone has good and bad, I doubt you never judge or think badly of anyone. You're already putting yourself on a piedestal which suggests that you are judgmental. Just my opinion but genuienly kind people never compare like that, they're just naturally kind and doesn't think much of it because it's their norm and not something plastered on that they give a lot of thought to and I say this because i've known/know both genuienly nice and fake-nice people. Fake-nice people tend to brag about how nice or honest or loyal they are compared to most other people while they're actually not and only say it as some kind of cope instead of just embracing the fact that no one is perfect.

  • Eh still feel highly of myself even with the votes. Was curious what people thought, but I think my self-esteem is actually too high to take it in either. Oh well
