I'm just tired of all the bs of trying to find a good girl worth being with. I'm not going to settle for a girl who is not on my level intellectually and it seems like all i can find are desperate or trashy.

I think you're hunting for a girl. By that i mean going out into the world finding a girl you don't know anything about and hoping she'll be perfect. The hunting is gonna get you trashy girls.
Tell your buddies at work that you're looking for someone. I'm assuming your buddies are similar to you: intellectual. You might get a "This cool chick i know is single" or "I can set you up with a friend"
Stop looking & your girl will show up. Romance is frickin' magical like that.

Take some time out and stay single. I had a bad break-up and decided on a whole year of being single (which, oddly enough, ends at 11pm tonight). In the past year, there have been times when I absolutely craved female attention. But I stuck by the rule I set for myself.
Now I'm coming to the last few hours, the enforced celibacy isn't having the effect I thought it would. I thought I'd be desperate to find someone. But I'm not. I'm much more interested in getting to know someone slowly and gradually fall into something wonderful than to have a try with every woman I see. It's been a really positive experience and I'm going to be a much better boyfriend to the girl who is next my girlfriend. And she is going to be better for me because I've taken the time to know her before deciding to partner off.
Something wonderful is going to happen, but I'm not going to push it. I'm just going to let it happen. Not saying this will work for you. Only that I think it's worked for me.
Stop actively fishing for women. I find the best results come when you just sit back in the boat and relax and let the fish jump into the boat.
