Is it normal to think a spider i'm looking at's also on the back of my neck?

Is it normal, when I see a huge, creepy spider on the floor, and feel something lightly brushing the back of my neck, to jump up frantically, like a moron, but by reflex, trying to brush "the spider" off--as though a spider can be in two places at one time?

I remember lying in my bed when I was a kid stone still for hours with the lights on b/c there was a spider on my ceiling. I thought if I moved, the spider would jump on me. I was a weird-assed kid!
