As i was a bit younger, i used to think that i just preferred a boy to be funny rather than attractive, as a lot of girls do. and in school, i always seemed to get a crush on the class clown instead of the hot guy.
But just recently i've realized that i can never be attracted to a boy if he isnt naturally funny.

i swear he could be a model but if he's a bore and doesn't make me laugh, then i wouldn't see him as an attractive person. and i'm not exaggerating but a guy could look like a hobo and id fall for him if he gave me attention and could make me laugh. and its just the fact that i will physically SEE a guy hotter if he's funny its just so weird

    That's totally normal. Most women and men a really attracted to mates who have a good sense of humor. And here's the bonus - funny people are also often smart. And intelligence is another thing people usually like in a mate.

    Careful there.

    Humor doesn't equal good person either. ANYONE with enough practice can be funny, and you cant be like, "Well, I'm a joke expert soooooo.... I can tell," no. Comedians make a living off jokes, and manipulative men/women learn to please people to get what they want; a lot of them didn't start out funny at all.

    I know I'm going too deep, because this post is mostly a, "oh my gee guys, I'm not shallow!! Normal? Teehee~". But really, dont make humor your only standard. It's sweet you feel this way, but dont let laughing make you glance over some serious issues/red flags a person has.

    Humor helps, and in my opinion, a good sense of humor and confidence will take an ugly guy up a notch or two. Awkwardness and low confidence does the opposite, it takes away a couple more points.

    Something else which also matters is hygiene and clothes. A rugged fit looking guy may be able to pull off wearing an old t-shirt and sweatpants in public, but someone less blessed in the looks department, no. He must make sure that he wears something a little more sharp, like nice slacks and a shirt with a collar, neatly pressed, no visible stains. Someone rugged and muscular may even be able to pull off a slightly musky odor (but not smell like he just slept in a dumpster), but someone less fortunate looking must no questions asked shower everyday and wear some cologne, aftershave, or something nice smelling. They have to make up for other areas that are lacking. That's just how it is.
