Is it normal to text a guy with a girlfriend

Let's say you've known a guy for a year, you were/are both mutually attracted to each other and before you'd text him whenever about whatever but now that he's in a relationship, how do you navigate that? I love him and it sucks he's with someone new but I still want him to be my friend though I would prefer him in my bed but there are certain obstacles that can't be overcome. Do I just steer clear?

    It IS possible for men and women to have plutonic relationships. Just hang around and be there for him when he needs you, odds are this girl will be gone after a while and you'll have another chance (if you want it). Don't let his new relationship mess up yours.

    leave him alone unless he literally just started dating the person . You could be a better match but if he has been in a long term relationship and is happy ... just leave him alone , sure he is attracted to you but clearly he is attracted to his girlfriend also .
