Is it normal to tell my parents that i'm gay so i don't have to get married?

I'm almost 30 and my parents have been asking me why I've never had a girlfriend yet and that most people my age are thinking about getting married. They even said that if I can't find a girl by myself that they will try to hook me up with some girls they know like some of their friend's daughters and stuff like that. To be honest I can't get a girl's or woman's attention to save my life, and I masturbate at least twice a day but the thought of approaching random girls scares me and I personally think it's really creepy. I don't even have much friends who might be able to help me find someone. I want a girlfriend but I would hate the idea of being forced into a relationship that I don't want. I've been thinking of just telling my parents that I'm gay so they'll get off my back.

    If you're not gay then don't lie about it. Better to explore shy you're socially inept. Do you groom yourself?

    Tell them that girls are YOUR problem, not THEIR problem. Also tell them that if you find a girl, they will be out of the picture, so there is no benefit for them to meddle.

      That's a mean thing to say to parents who have raised you. How about they'll be gaining a daughter-in-law and maybe grandchildren?

    I am very similiar...you have low self esteem and social anxiety....if you have a half decent relationship with your parents just tell them what you told us...
