Is it normal to take time off during 6 month probation period of new job?

I might get a new job and I didn't get to mention that I have my cousin's wedding in 4 months so if they say yes, should I tell them about that? Am I allowed to go? I have to go, she's my best friend/cousin and I've known her since we were little, it's a big deal, obviously. I'd miss 6 days of this jobs probation period but it's 4 months from the possible start of the job..so if I do get it, I'd start two weeks from now and It would be 16 weeks/4 exact months until my cousin's wedding in another country.

Am I allowed to do this? I know my friend took off for a family reunion once and was gone for two weeks. Should I tell them if they call me back and say yes? I just feel mean to do it but I really need the job as I've been in a job that is doing illegal stuff/cruel to the workers but I can't miss my cousin's wedding. The person interviewing me was really friendly and we had lots of laughs.

Let them know ahead of time and express the importance of it. In the mean time during those 16 weeks work your ass off.

I'd take the job and scope the place out for a few weeks. By then you should be able to weed out a kind hearted manager with whom to broach the subject. Work your ass off to prove yourself worthy of this special attention, though.
