Is it normal to take daydreaming way seriously?(maladaptive daydreaming)

what it says. people with maladaptive DD might understand. like obviously youve got a storyline going in your head , but then you take extreme interest in the characters like saving tons of pictures just to get an idea of the physical characteristics and stuff..

freak , i know. maybe a phase maybe not.

Write a story and develop your characters! It could become a passion perhaps. Something to think about.

    I'm the same.

I'm much too involved; I prefer the story in my head to reality. The feeling of complete and utter control is a drug to me. A drug that I am so entirely addicted to.

Couldn't stop if I wanted to.

Well I daydream a lot. But the main character is always me so character development isn't a problem. I'd say that you are normal.

Strange that you mention that, I always used to be like this when I was around 14-16, but I never knew it was an actual thing. I'd say it's quite normal do long as you don't let it dictate your life.

I used to do that too, I used to draw my characters and was pretty much obsessed with them.
