Is it normal to still wear a ring your ex gave you if you're in a relationship?

I was with my sons father for 8 years before we split it. A few months ago e has given me a ring. It resembles a wedding band although he did not propose. I am in a new relationship now, and very happy! My honey asked me about the ring, jokingly, and commented that I look like a married woman. I just love the ring. I do wear it on my ring finger, would it be more acceptable to wear it on another finger? Or should I ditch the ring? Comments please.

    I would say the LEAST you could do is to not wear it on the ring finger of the left hand (or right depending where you're from). It'd make me uncomfortable if my significant other wore a ring someone else had given him. I have a promise ring (yes i'm 12 years old) and if we broke up, I would probably sell it and definitely not wear it. There's just no point. I'd understand expensive earrings or something but a ring...eh. There's just more meaning to that to me at least.

    i agree with Artist. don´t throw it away! but.. i really advice you to tell your boyfriend who you got that ring from, because if he finds out, and you didn´t tell him he might get the wrong idea. he might still think that you´re in love with your ex! and if you talk to him about it you´ll know how he feels about it and based on that you make your decission to wear it or not.

    If it's not an engagement ring I say it's normal. I mean, if a female bought me a gift, jacket, shirt, etc. and we broke up, I'd still wear it. Now, if it looks like an engagement ring and you wear it on that finger, you have 9 other fingers, put it on any one of the other ones, does the ring only look good on that one finger you wear it on?
