Is it normal to still be in love with someone you meet when you were 13?

I meet this guy when we were in 8th grade I'm now 20... We started dating but he moved away before the beginning of our freshman year.. Well we lost all contact but I still thought about him a lot.. Our senior year we started talking again after finding each other on Facebook and after on conversation it was like the last three years never happened and we were as close as ever... We started dating again at the end of our senior year right before he went off to basic but he didn't want me to have to deal with never seeing him so we broke it off... We still talk all the time and I still feel the same way for him that I did all those years ago... I just don't think it's normal to love someone you meet in 8th grade what do you think?

    I don't think you loved him all those years. I think that the conversation you had with him merely rekindled the emotions you had for him back in 8th grade.

    I'm married to someone who I met when I was about 15. We didn't have much contact for quite a few years and started dating when I was 23.

    You know all those gushy romance movies that hollywood keeps making? This sounds just like that. This is not a criticism. In fact, I am in support of your possible relationship. Why? Because in order for someone to come up with an idea like that, they have to experience it first. Which means the whole met as kids and then lost touch and then fell back in love story is actually possible. Best of luck.

    I think you should get over shit that happened almost a decade ago. They call it Puppy Love....for a reason. God this is kind of a disturbing post.
