Is it normal to stay in a place of employment due to morbid fascination?

I currently work in a school, (as a teacher) with a principal who pretty much has no idea how to run a school well. He does not listen to his teachers about what is happening with the students, or the work, pretty much ignores all suggestions, and when something does need changing, he pretty much takes a bad situation and rapes it into something completely useless calling it great. So my question is: While primarily I continue to work in this (almost) fascist environment to help the kids, is it normal for a major reason to stay in a crappy work environment to be one of morbid fascination as to what totally boneheaded comment or decision he will make next will be?

  • Hahaha absolutely. Its like a real life version of The Office! My last manager was so incompetent and scatterbrained that it was hilarious to come in each day and hear what new shenanigans he was up to. While annoying at times it was also highly entertaining.

I'm asking if its normal to stay in a job just to see what idiotic decision or comment my boss will make next.

Im not sure. I mean, most people want to stay away from that kind of workplace. Unless the stupid decisions don't affect you personally, then I guess it could be amusing.
