Is it normal to start a relationship with some who lives in a different country

I recently met a girl on holidays in spain,we got on great and kept in touch however she lives in the UK and i live in Ireland,soon after she came over for a weekend and we really hit it off,she is now coming again only a fortnight later and i have plans to visit her in november,can this sort of relationship carry on and work?

    Been there; got the t-shirt.

    Yes, it can work, but it isn't very easy. Eventually, one of you shall have to move.

    It's very difficult and you have to have full trust in each other, but it can work.
