Is it normal to sometimes not like your own heritage?

I know it makes me sound like a racist, but I am not. I'm proud to be of Mexican descent. I love my culture's food, music, etc. I want to consider myself Mexican but some people of my culture make me feel like I don't belong with them. They mostly do that because I don't speak a lot of Spanish and because I'm fair-skinned. They go off calling me a "gringa" or "pocha" and it pisses me off that I'm not "Mexican enough" for them. This makes me not like my heritage sometimes. Why do they have to be harsh about it??? I know they don't want the culture to die, but is it necessary to be like that to your own?

Speaking with intelligence or "white" is frowned upon in all cultures of dark skin. Its what keeps us stagnant and held back in all forms of cultural growth. Dont you know that white people are the only ones who can pronounce the 'ing' at the end of each word?

Fuck them. They want to act like stereotypes cause they dont know better. Let em. Learn your own path and do what defines you. If it Aint Mexican enough for em, wear a sombrero while your leaving them primitive ass thinkers behind.

    • I see. It's sad how they go against you because of those things, even if you try everything to make them accept you. We humans are suppose to be united, not tearing eachother like savages. I wish I was a tiger. At least they aren't succeptible to such criticism. :P We're never satisfied with anything.

I do not what Mexicans have become. I don not like being tied to cholos, misogyny, narcotics, lazibess, welfare fraud, nor ID theft. I have become the family outcast for speaking out and following my own path.

If your skin color is white, then you're not Mexican. Plain and simple.

You can only blame yourself for being born cold from the womb.

What a crock of shit. Pure, unadulterated bullshit, you bigot. Have you never heard of those conquistador guys, you know, the Spaniards who conquered the Aztecs? duh.
Never mind the many other immigrants whose progeny were born in Mexico, that are not dark complected. Jerk.
There are white, blonde, blue eyed Mexicans, and their relatives have been in Mexico a many hundreds of years.
I guess you slept through that class in school, huh?
