Is it normal to sometimes envy homeless people?

They can go anywhere they want where they can walk to or meet. Able to get to know some interesting people. They are not prisoners of societies games. They don't have any sentimental reasons to stay somewhere, no one to make them feel being held back. I just sometimes see homeless people and see freedom.

You must be very naive and sheltered. Nothing to envy about sleeping on concrete, having no privacy to shit or piss, starving, having nowhere to shut the door and chill out, being thought of as less than human shit, never being able to escape scorching heat or freezing cold........very naive you must be.

Not knowing where your next meal is coming from, people bullying you, and having no place to piss is not a good life. Be happy that you're not homeless.

You could try it out if you don't have any pressing obligations holding you back. You could do something like hike the Appalachian trail...that's something I would like to do once my kids are old enough to either take care of themselves for a bit or come along if they want. I've heard so many great stories of people who do long hikes.

And it is so easy to achieve. Just piss in your pants and wander into the night.

No. You don't want to be homeless.

What it sounds like you want is to do some backpacking. Save up a shit ton of money, buy an RV (for shelter and mobility) and just travel. Make money for food and gas by selling things you make (paintings, items, etc).

That's the reason I envy very rich people. They truly can go everywhere they want and have power. They can own the places they go to. A homeless person actually has nowhere to go because he's not welcome anywhere.

Hell no, it's not normal. How would you feel being hungry all the time, being exposed to the elements constantly, being vulnerable to violence, having no place to safely and comfortably sleep, and having no entertainment?

To an extent, I agree. I'd at least like to live off the grid some day. Use the barter system and all that great shit.

In Las Vegas there are sewer tunnels underneath the Strip where lots of homeless people live. Google it, it's cray.

Dad says not having a permanent wooden tent doesn't make you homeless.

He also said he has serious doubts that you have ever been anything even close to homeless.

There are ways to live cheaply and if you prepare properly and have skills in a transient way. Just being regular homeless sucks. Most of these people don't live this way by choice and have a hard time finding work because they don't have a place to shave or shower.

If you can play guitar and judge who's trustworthy you can make a living roaming around. But still you're at the mercy of the world. but aren't we all?
