So I was 20 when I met by best friends much older cousin at a family event. He was 43 at the time. I we really hit it off and I went over to his place to hang out a few times. He was a really good looking guy. Long story short I ended up sleeping with him and I really enjoyed it. But I told him we had to stop seeing each other because my best friend would be so mad if he found out and I couldn't get over the age gap. His son is a year older than me! Is this normal?

Age gaps are normal. Plenty of older men and women like younger and plenty of young men and women like older. Shame you werent able to put aside modern society limitations and enjoy a good thing you had with someone

Age issues are more an issue of society then reality.
OK, you're 20.
Are you better off with a low performing 20 something.
Or a 40 something who has his shit together.
Look around, look at your peers.
simular ages is no guarantee of a happy or lasting relationship.

Five years from now you will change quite a bit in your way of thinking and what you are looking for. He won't change at all. the age gap is a problem. Not for sex, but for anything long term.

If you wanna quit cause your friendship would be fucked, that's understandable. Still if the sex is good I would risk it though. This sounds like something a good friend wouldn't leave you over but no guarantees. But definitely don't stop just because the age gap. That's just silly.

    To you is your preference, to them is theirs. A lot of girls like older men, its their choice, and most of them have no regret either when they get old. Todays double standards its ok for older woman to date younger boys but when a girl above the age of consent dates older men in their 40s its not? Good the world doesn't care about your views. You are free to do what you want and be with who you want and those who like older are free to be with who they want, always have been. Non of these matters in the long run when we all get old and end up dead.
