Is it normal to sing to break the silence when i am out of conversation?

Whenever I am alone or stuck with a person I am not really close with, I tend to sing whatever song(s) playing in my head to break the silence when we're out of shit to talk about. To make it worse, my voice is mediocre at best.

If I didn't do that, I would feel this heavy awkwardness being placed on my shoulder which I hate it so much. Is it normal?

I'd take you as a weirdo if we both were in an elevator and you started to sing

    • If only we only out of stuff to talk about though. Of course I will resort to chatting with each other first. When the awkward silence ensues, then I'll sing a random song but I forgot to mention that I monstly hum to the song.

If you're a total stranger though...then I wouldn't mind at all about total silence. It's when I am stucked with the random friend that we only know a lil' bit about each other is what will bother me.
