Is it normal to send a sympathy card to my buddy... (cont.)

My best friend had a relative pass away today. I feel terrible so I want to send a sympathy card, as anyone close to someone would. The thing is, it's a cousin he's never talked about with me. So I've never met the cousin and aren't as heartbroken since I don't know them. Would it seem odd if I sent one or is it okay because of the circumstances he'll appreciate it either way? I have already said my condolences, but I feel a card is appropriate too.

It's about your friend more than the cousin, it doesn't matter that you didn't know the cousin. It's a nice idea that shows your friend how much you care.

No send one. It's a nice gesture to show you're thinking of him in a difficult time.

Top of the morning mate, its not about the relationship with his cousin or rather the lack of it.Its about you and your friend. If it was you in his situation how would you feel if you got the card.
