Is it normal to see yourself in your sleep?

I already have a pretty good feeling it's not normal, but I wanted to see if this has happened to anyone else... there are times when I go to sleep that when I dream, instead of what I usually dream (like an adventure, action movie, video game, or something), I'll be standing next to where I'm laying asleep and I can see what's going on around me. There's one time in particular that I remember when I was having an EEG (look it up if you don't know what it is, you'll likely get confused later if you don't) I went to sleep but when I was asleep instead of having one of my usual dreams I was sort of like outside of my body, where I could walk around the room, go through walls and explore the hospital, I could see myself, asleep, the nurse watching the lines on the computer screen, my mom asleep in the chair at the end of my hospital bed with the magazine she had been reading laying on her lap, pretty much everything and as if I were awake... Except I couldn't communicate or move anything.

Yeah, this has happened to me before 24
