Is it normal to *require* texting at least every 24 hours in a relationship

You are in a relationship, say 7 months in, and your significant other gets upset because you didn't text them in about 24 hours or more. You have no problem with texting and it's the first time you have gone without texting for a day since you've met. Nothing wrong, you just didn't have anything to say that particular day. Is your significant other well within their right to be upset at you?

  • yes if the parameters have already been set, then a break in these seems like a cooling of the friendship, you could change the rules of engagement to have more *you* time

That is kinda silly, I agree with kelili and Corleone on this one. If she really wanted to talk she could have gotten in touch with you.

It's silly. Like Kelili says: if she wants to talk to you, she should text you. She shouldn't wait for you to text if you've got nothing to say.

I understand your partner's reaction but he/she could have sent a text first.
