Is it normal to refer to my parents as "mommy" or "daddy"

I found that my habit for calling my parents "mommy" and "daddy" have not changed since I was a young child. It's become increasingly embarrassing to call for them in public, yet it seems too strange to suddenly refer to them as "mom" or "dad".
I do not know anyone else around my age who still call their parents what I call mine. I am 17

I do and my friends do too but I don't call them that in public or in front of anyone who I don't know like that

Only if you want to sound like a 9 year old.

I used to call mine Drunk and Drunker. How the hell those two could even figure out how to get dressed I'll never know.

Well, no matter how old you get they're still your mommy and daddy.
