Is it normal to really be annoyed by my dog?

I love dogs, don't get me wrong. But this one is just too attention fucking seeking. If there is one thing I realized whilst owning this dog is that I fucking hate attention seekers. The dog cries for attention, follows me everywhere, starts barking if you don't pet it, gets in your way everywhere you go by following you, pulls at your arm, breathes in your face when you are waking up in the morning, I can't stand it. Its ridiculously annoying. We can't own the dog anyways, because its too big, so we have to return him tomorrow, but in the week we tried him out I couldn't take it. He is sweet, but I can't deal with it. Is that normal? Do you think if I got a calmer dog, like a Bull dog, or Pug, I would do better?

All those things you just listed are what makes dogs so lovable. Maybe you don't really want a dog, rescue a cat instead?

I have always wanted a dog. TBH cats are the opposite of what I like XD. It's just I wanted a calm sedentary dog, like a Bull dog, or a pug, or a Saint Bernard. This one is a Labrador/Poodle, and its crazy as hell.

That's funny because one of my dogs is a lab and poodle mix! He's 3/4 lab and 1/4 poodle and he is 7 years old and still super active! He's very clingy I call him my "mamas boy". He barks for attention, follows me everywhere, sleeps sharing a pillow with me at night!! It's tough because most dogs aren't going to be super calm or distant...but if you were open to rescuing an older dog you can definitely find that and you'd save a life that really needs saving. Or check out your local shelter and ask them for the calmest dog, the staff and volunteers will know who to recommend for you! Good luck 😄

I guess you're not the Labra-doodle type. You probably couldn't handle a Siamese cat either. My sister has a toy Poodle, and he's sweet, but also very demanding. He barks every night at bedtime, because he wants to be picked up so he can sleep in the bed.

It's pretty normal to like some dogs and find other ones irritating. I love my dog, but my ex's dog was really hyper and overwhelming to be around. Dogs have different personalities and sometimes personalities clash.

Generally speaking, younger dogs need A LOT of attention. You could probably find a calmer dog who gives you more space, especially if you're looking at older dogs, but best to get to know the dog before rushing into anything.
