Is it normal to prefer no underwear with skirts?

I'm 26 and work in an office, and have the choice between pants or a skirt.

In winter I wear pants with underwear as it's cold and that's comfortable. In summer I prefer to wear a skirt (a little above the knee, not revealing) however I never feel comfortable in underwear.

Recently I've stopped wearing underwear with the skirts and it feels so much better.

Yesterday it became a problem as a friend from work wanted to go clothes shopping at lunch and I had to make an excuse not to go so she wouldn't find out.

I thought about keeping a pair in my handbag, car, or desk drawer, but it would be embarrassing if someone found them. Now I'm really not sure what to do.

Is it normal that I prefer no underwear with skirts?

Is this a problem a lot of you have? How do you deal with it?

    If I were a girl and wore skirts i probably wouldn't wear underwear. But then again, I wouldn't wear clothes at all if I didn't have to.

        Im talking in general, more so when it's a girl that I'm in a relationship with. Then your actually allowed to see what's under ther skirt with out having to be a total perv/creep.

    I see no problem with no panties under a skirt, that's how I normally am too. As far as clothes shopping, just use seperate dressing rooms and she'll never know. If you enjoy no panties under skirts, jsut keep at it. I normally don't wear any panties and I haven't had a problem with it.

    This doesn't make sense. I think you're just showing off that you don't wear panties under your skirts, because you didn't have to try on anything in your friend's presence or you could've gone into a separate fitting room

    I make my gf do it, It was a way for me to get back at her once but it stayed.. And now she wants me to do the same all the time.. But on the odd occasion I currently do it and it's a problem or be obvious,(like the gym changing room) I just say Im commando today. Like I don't care, then neither do they.. But I can't bring myself to do it all the time like I wish I could..

    Please just wear underwear! There could be some freak accident and your skirt rips or something! Even if you have some with you, it's not the same.

    Okay guys, just want to clear a few things up. Firstly, I don't have any desire to expose myself at work. I don't wear skirts short enough for this to be an issue.

    I didn't really think it through, but the thought of my friend finding out really freaked me out. It would be very embarrassing if somebody found out.

    The company I work for tries to save electricity, so the buildings are warmer in summer.

    I still don't really have a solution to this.

    How do you know your friend isn't going commando as well? Besides, do you change clothes in the same booth? Tell your friend you dont wear undies. I bet they wouldnt be bothered by it. It used to be quite common for people to go commando. It is supposed to be beneficial for women as it allows it to breath, as they say.

    Most offices have AC that runs way too cold in the summer. You'd think that would be the problem.

    And so what if you go shopping. Don't try on pants. Is that really a challenging problem?

    Sometimes you have to bite the bullet, and deal with wearing underpants.
    But if you're really concerned, go to work in work pants instead in both winter and summer.
