Is it normal to prefer being a female online?

(not on this site) but on other websites, I like to pretend being a female. As a guy, you are often overlooked and nobody really cares what you have to say. But as a girl, everything you say or do online becomes magnified and every guy tries to help you or leave compliments in some way or another. I just find it more interesting being a woman online compared to being a man - which is honestly boring.

Note I just do this online, not in real life.

I see where you're coming from. I just hope you know that the only reason why they're more interactive is because they want to bone your imaginary vagina.

I doubt they actually care about what you're saying - if they did, it wouldn't make a difference if you were a male or female.

Hah... I'm a female but on games I don't mention it or play with male avatars because i don't like that attention & being treated differently... it's boring to have people act all cutesy or whatever like they're afraid to offend you. plus it's more acceptable and fun to troll people as a guy

Anyone who treats a man or a women differently because of gender on the internet is a virgin.

  • This is exactly why this whole gender equality thing is never gonna play out the way feminists want it to. Men are still gonna treat women like women and other men like other men. Hopefully I'm not skewered for saying this because it isn't my intention to offend anyone.

Honestly this is interesting. I wish I had portrayed myself as a woman for this site.

Try getting dozens of messages threatening you and sexually harassing you just because you have a vagina. Trust me, it gets old fast.

I think this only works if people assume you are a white female online. Ive experienced much more negativity than positivity online as a female simply because I'm black.

I'm 99% sure the brand of troll that target me on IIN wouldn't if I were male.

  • Sometimes when I'm playing online where I can customize my avatar I have certain aspects added that look girly (one has been a pink mask with hearts...To be kind of ironic in some way). Whenever I played as such avatars I would get better treatment. I remember this time on PayDay someone said they would stop betraying me if I were female but they weren't because they knew I was male...I was just like "U srs?"

Ahhh, it ain't always fun being a guy online. Aha.

Life is difficult for middle class white males in first world countries ha?
I often try to explain it to Douche but she can't understand my plight, what with her vagina & all...

I hate getting unwanted attention from men (well, anyone really). And I hate it even more when other women use their sex appeal just so lonely basement dwellers will pay attention to them. It's disgusting!

That being said, I will sometimes pretend to be male or leave my gender ambiguous on websites simply because I want people to pay attention to what I have to say instead of having them brown-nose me just because I'm female.

On IIN it doesn't matter because we're all freaks and geeks so I don't give a rat's ass if anyone cares about my gender.
