Is it normal to ponder such thoughts?

Whenever I catch myself saying something along the lines of, "I am only human" or "it is human nature" I wonder what we will be saying if we ever make first contact with other sentient species. If the other species are similar in thought to humans will we begin saying, "I'm only sentient" or " 'tis the nature of sentience?"

Sometimes I also wonder what would go through a religious fundamentalist's mind if we ever did make first contact, especially with a superior species.

is it normal to think about these aspects of first contact?

They'll probably laugh at us and say "Are you guys still killing each other over religion?"

Speaking of Religion, awhile back, it came out that The Vatican has gone into research about extraterrestrials and that they believe in them. There was a video on YouTube about this.

Some other branches of Christianity, are convinced that all extraterrestrials are demons.

What if the extraterrestrial had thought that were similar to ours? What if they are just as flawed as we are? Saying "earthling" would be too exclusive.

If a superior species does exist, would not contradict the Bible that God made us in his image. If that is true, God would then be inferior because his creation is inferior.

Humanity has been contacted by extraterrestrials before. Not whole of man kind, usually it is a selected few. Some countries have been making steps to full disclosure, I am assuming to help quell panic. Whereas in America, these steps haven't been fully taken. Most Americans are in denial and if they were to know, I'm sure many of them would panic.

There are humanoid extraterrestrials in our Galaxy. Some are taller than the average human being. The most common are probably The Nordics.

How about saying,"I'm only an Earthling"?

We would probably just say "That's how people are"

Do you believe it would be fair to assume that that would be a more liberal perspective? I'm sure there would be those humans that believe personhood is exclusive to humanity.

I was speaking towards multiple universes. And concepts of individually and predestined vs free will.

Really I just do that nugget out there as food for thought
