Is it normal to place a lot of toilet paper in the toilet to prevent splashing?

I absolutely hate it when toilet water hits my butt while I am doing my business so I preemptively place several layers of toilet paper in the bowl, I'd probably be using 5x less toilet paper if I were not doing this.

    Holy shit and I thought I was the only one who did that. You don't have to use several layers though, unless you're the kind that dumps heavy payloads.
