Is it normal to pass up a friendly sex offer from someone over the internet?

I have been on a friendly chat site for a long while now and had been getting along with quite a few people. Some of them find it hard to communicate via text and wanted to cam chat. One of these people began to become interested in me and I found out that we lived in the same location. I was invited over for a friendly bit of sex. However though i've known this person on the internet for a little while and they didn't want to date before the sex came. I turned the person down. I have yet to get another reply and now feel that I jumped to a conclution to fast and kinda feel the want to meet up with them now.

Do you think I made the right choice? Even when I know what they look like. Have known them online for a while. Do you think that meeting someone over the internet for sex isnt a smart move?

    I agree with shuggy... Go for coffee or drinks or dinner.. Make him treat you with more respect. The fact that you haven't heard back is alarm bells to me... Find yourself a gentleman!

      The question seemed to almost purposely avoid giving away the gender of either party...

    i think it be better to met them in person first, maybe even a date before u go for casual sex. ppl on the computer and in person cn be diffrent
