Is it normal to not vote?

I don't vote. I'm not registered to vote. I have no intention to vote in this election or any future elections.
I don't believe my vote matters. Even if I thought it did matter, Trey Parker and Matt Stone put it best when they compared it to choosing between a douche and a turd.
Sure, I have an opinion and I do follow politics to some degree. But I choose not to be part of this shit show. Your thoughts?

I was pretty much forced into registering ( even though i believe it's a choice not a duty ) and i've only ever voted twice when i wanted to minimise the chances of a bigoted party gaining ground and the referendum

Jury duty is a civic duty and i've done that but voting is a choice, im cynical and negativley self centered, i'm too busy dealing with my own shit to pay much attention to the politics of the world around me let alone when i don't trust the majority of politicians

Because of this I don't understand the in depth ins and outs of british politics, to vote, you should ideally understand not only the in depth workings of the political systems but the details of how the decision you are voting for will affect those systems

What happens when people vote without understanding all that? People vote to leave the eu, then google " what is the eu " the next day ( seriously ) and then regret it

    still bitter.....

It's illegal not to vote here. I got fined a bunch of times because when I moved to Melbourne, I didn't change my address with the electoral roll.

Our "options" weren't quite as bad as America or Britain's, but it does feel like being asked "Do you want to microwave this baby, or blend it?" :/

Working class people will be working class people until they, collectively, decide they don't want to be working class people anymore. When they realise that, it won't be a "vote", it'll be revolution.

"Brexit" opened my eyes up to a lot of things. We live in a world where Corporate greed and corrupt politicians play Russian Roulette with the economy. These people can afford to do that, knowing damn well they'll sit through a preventable recession comfortable, high and dry, while working class people bleed for it.

The fuckery doesn't stop there, because then comes the deflecting and distractions so that you, a working class person, don't see what they're doing. Let them distract you with a hyper-nationalistic and anti-immigrant campaign like "Brexit", so that you can (perhaps temporarily) feel like you have some control and can vote for something that will "make Britain great again". After all, those "thieving, dirty immigrants" are obviously the ones responsible for driving our country into massive debt and making cuts to our public services, aren't they?

Oh we can leave The EU and kick the immigrants out, if we really want to... you'll still be working the same shitty job making the same shitty un-livable wage 10 years from now. Because that's what suits the people who really run this world.

Wake up to the bullshit. You are being lied to, overworked and underpaid, given scapegoats to blame to distract you, and robbed blind by a system that doesn't give a fuck about you.

That makes zero sense. That would only make sense if someone wanted one to win over the other. If you think they're all shit options, how is not voting not registering your opinion? That's what voting IS.

Most people don't vote. You're normal.

Yeah, it's normal not to vote. People are tired of
corrupted politics the only good Presidential candidates
is the Libertarians, Green Party. If enough people would
set up petitions online we could get Gary Johnson 270 Votes.

Yeah i hear you it's horrible when you have two
unfavorable people running that are the main ones
how can political parties even have the nerve
to run them against each other on a ticket
I changed to Republican October of 2008 when
Obama was first running for office i do still
believe John McCain would of been a better
candidate and out of Democrats my favorite was
always John F Kennedy i wasn't even born yet
but he was scandal free and drama free and he
didn't have any kind of corruption going on
I think politicians are well paid off to win
a election and I believe if a person running
for President doesn't get at least 70 percent
or higher should be the winner of that state
do away with them delegates and who ever gets 270
or better than give them the election than he/ she
shouldn't qualify to be US President.

I don't even vote on IIN posts and people really expect me to walk to some place and stand in a long queue with smelly people to vote? I'd rather play strip poker with Ellenna
