Is it normal to not remember...

Obviously I cant remember anything from before i was born. But i also cant remember anything until about age 5,6,7 but even then i have very few memories.

Its like it just doesnt exist. What happens to all these memories when we die? Why are we able to remember so much while we are aliveif its all just going to disappear?

I cant seem to figure out how this whole life thing works. So we suddenly come into existence but cant remember anything beforehand, and then when we die its all gone just like before we were born... ?? But in between we're right here and totally aware of everything.

Its like being on a highway at nighttime with two dead ends, one in each direction and we're just driving from one dead end to the other

My very first memory is when I was 6 and I was watching a preview of the 1989 Batman on tv and I thought it was the coolest thing I'd ever seen.
