Is it normal to not have your period for so long

First of all, the depo something you can only be on for 6 months max. I was on it for two years and I'm fine, my mother has been on it since I was born, for 19 years now. Second of all, its normal for birth control to manipulate your menstrual cycle. You don't ovulate on the shot so you don't get your period at all. You may experience breakthrough bleeding as a result of the hormones in the shot, but its not a period. Also, when you come off the shot it takes anywhere between 6 weeks and 18 months to fully leave your system. I changed from the shot to the pill last december and up until a couple weeks ago I was still battling with spotting here and there, and I'm on a VERY strong birth control pill. My advice would be to wait it out or go on the pill as it effectively masks the effects of coming off depo. Be glad you're not one of the women who have uncontrollably heavy bleeding as a result of depo, like I did.

Yeah. That shot can mess ur cycle and hormones up big time. Look at the side effects. That shot hasn't been around a very long time, I hope you aren't gonna become a statistic of what happens when u double up on it. You might wanna go see ur gyno or pcp

I went almost 3 years without mine.

The depo shot can do strange things to your body, a friend of mine had a weird smell for a month at the injection site .It may take you up to a year to regulate. I don't recommend birth control shots.

My mom got her depo shot and the one shot was supposed to last the year, and she got the shot annually for 10 years. She didn't have a period for that long either.
