Is it normal to never forgive yourself for any mistakes you make

you feel as if your life is defined and who you are is defined by the mistakes you make and you also feel as if you are the sum of all the mistakes you make in life. And it gets so bad and you want to beat yourself up so much that you can't think straight. After making any mistake, big or small, you feel as if you need to punish yourself, harshly because no one in the whole world is as stupid and a complete waste of air as you are.

Are these normal feelings to have?

Punishing yourself won't do anything but harm. Dwelling on your mistakes won't re-do the past. It does nothing. Try letting it go - it's normal to feel this way but it shouldn't carry on longer than it has to.

Instead, make up for your mistakes by doing kind things. Good luck. :)

This is a completely skewed view of mistakes. Mistakes should be viewed as learning experiences, not some masochistic reason to punish yourself.
Nobody, no matter how smart, gets it right every single time. So we all make mistakes. One can only hope to limit the fallout from them and not repeat them. No need for anger, self recrimination or punishment.
Now if you go around repeating your mistakes, well then you probably should get pretty good at kicking yourself in the ass.

No one can hurt us more than ourselves. This is normal, but not healthy. I'm sure whatever you did ain't so bad, try to lighten up ^-^
