Is it normal to make a boy wear multiple pairs of briefs like it's his diapers?

When I was a little boy I had trouble with potty training, especially with pooping. By the time I was past the age of four I had outgrown diapers and training pants (no Pull-Ups back then) but I was still having lots of accidents. My mom's solution was to have me wear at least a dozen pairs of underwear (usually more), and because it was so thick, I couldn't wear any pants over them and had to go around like this in front of my sisters, who of course teased me about it endlessly. Often times I had to spend the entire day like this and go to bed like this as well. This continued off and on until I was about 6 or 7 years old.

I have often wondered if other parents have done the same thing for their sons when they have poop accidents after having outgrown diapers. I knew of one other boy whose accidents were handled like this, so I imagine it's more common, or at least was back in the day when white briefs were all that boys ever wore for underwear.

Why do you keep posting and reposting the same damn thing. Obviously NOBODY gives a crap about you underwear issues. Take a hint and move on.

    • So why did you bother to open my post and go this far to comment on it? There are a lot of things here that I don't give a crap about either, but I just "move on".

I have read your comments in other posts and a lot of people hate you (and rightly so). Perhaps YOU should take a hint and at least try to be somewhat civil.

If you notice this is the first time I responded to your silly post. I just got tired of seeing the same old thing, time after time. Get a life!

It sounds like a lazy way to handle a child having accidents. I have four sons, and two of them had that same trouble at that age. My husband and I set up a schedule to have them go to the bathroom more often, and they figured things out.

My auntie had the exact same problem with my cousin(a girl) so she just let her go bare bum most of the time. She was completly potty trained a few days before her 5th birthday.

Oh your mom's was not nice or loving of you at least in this wrong way to help you stop pooing: She was somewhat cruel too knowing your sisters would tease you: Did she feel their teasing would be a help: pooing is ever so natural but I guess in a number of children it needs medical advice and re-assurance all will be well helpful suggestions are given: I think your mom was not fair to you: Have you a healthy mind in a healthy body now:

    • I know my mom was desperate and at her wit's end by the time she went to doing this with me. She probably thought that the embarrassment from my sisters' teasing would motivate me to get to the toilet. What she probably didn't realize was that I would end up developing a fetish for diapers and tighty whities, which is why I secretly enjoyed the attention I got from my sisters in spite of their laughing at me, which is why I continued to wear my underwear like this around the house even after I stopped having so many accidents. Weird, I know. That's why I wanted to share my experiences here, where people can talk about things they normally wouldn't.

I'm doing quite well as an adult. The largest impact this had on me was the development of my fetish mentioned above. I love my mom and she raised me well, and I wouldn't have wanted anyone else to be my mother. I just know that my toilet training was her most difficult parenting challenge of all.
