Is it normal to maintain an ongoing friendship with this guy

This guy and and I met online and flirted for months and we really enjoy talking to each other and share mutually beneficial attraction towards one another. The thing is he lives in the USA and I live in Canada, there is about 1000km between us so we can't be together. He met someone new and it's official and seems serious (weekends away and holidays together). Despite all of this he goes to get lengths to keep in touch with me and we just talk about normal everyday stuff and he always throws in a compliment or two. I don't know what's going on in his mind or mine, keeping that in touch with a guy who has feelings for me and I have feelings for but has a girlfriend. Is this at all normal?

When asked why I was visiting Canada one year on my way to a fishing job, I said, "Because there's no bridge to Alaska." Needless to say the border patrol officer didn't laugh. I thought it was funny.

  • I think you are romanticizing your interactions with him too much.

Does the girlfriend know about you? As long as everyone is honest, enjoy having a close friend.

I think you are only setting yourself up for heartache.

If I am being honest , it feels like a waste of your time . He has a life many miles away from you and is currently dating . I would find someone within your range . I live in canada also , there are plenty of good guys here too so don't worry .

    I hope this helps :)
