German is a very harsh sounding language, I can't imagine why anyone would want to learn it just for fun.
I've always loved German, I've been around Spanish speaking people my whole life, but I really have never had a passion for it. I studied German for two years in high school, and it was always easier, and more natural to me than Spanish. I've tried to study Spanish twice in college and it was difficult for me both times.
We all have our preferences and I can certainly appreciate yours.
I do rather prefer the sound of Italian over Spanish as long as people aren't screaming and over annunciating.
And with regard to Spanish I prefer the sound of Colombian Spanish over any other Latin American accent. I also like the way Spaniards sound of course.
