Is it normal to love a song at first but hate it when it becomes overplayed?

There will be some songs I love when they first come out on the radio. However, after a while of them being released, I end up disliking them because the radio plays them practically every other hour. One of the radio stations where I live plays mainstream music (Katy Perry, Pitbull, you get the idea) and is especially notorious for playing the same songs over and over. I try to get out of listening to that station as much as possible. Unfortunately, it is my sister's and my cousin's favorite radio station and I'm stuck listening to it whenever I go places with them. Anybody else feel the same way about good songs being ruined by being overplayed?

Yeah, of course. I always wonder why we treat songs differently than films or books. When we like a song, it's a bit like a love affair, where we want to keep hearing it, and then we get bored. No-one does this with a film where you have to see it every day for a month.

Satellite television kind of does that with certain movie channels.

Just expect what ever song you first hear on a radio and enjoy to hate with in a month.
