Is it normal to lose respect when someone is nasty because different viewpoints? For example an is it normal user who has a conservative viewpoint told a woman on here, who was concerned about violence at the Women's March on violence that she was a nasty liberal and she hopes she gets her ass fucked with no lube.

It's one thing to disagree, but another thing to lash out this way. The person who wrote this either took the post down, the OP erased it or the mods took it down. This person sure didn't represent conservatives as tolerant of viewpoints that are different from there own. I know she's not representative of many conservatives, but she makes conservatives look bad to people who may be too ignorant to realize there are different kinds of conservatives and she was too ignorant to realize there are different kinds of liberal.

    I saw the comment last night. I didn't realize it was gone now and I'm glad to hear it. I was surprised and disheartened by the viciousness and immaturity to boot. It's one thing to disagree. It's another thing to name call and wish violent things to happen to people even if you disagree with someone and think their viewpoint is wrong. It's fine to tell someone you think their viewpoint is wrong or say I think that viewpoint is harmfully wrong (I got the impression that was the person who attacked the OP felt), but another thing to name call them and wish them harm like I said. I happened to share the OPs viewpoint (the person who was attacked), but even if I didn't I wouldn't think talking to the OP this way was acceptable.
