Is it normal to lonely and sad during this time?

I was really lonely this week. My children and grandchildren did not came to visiting me this christmas.They went to England to be with other friends, but i am happy that they are having a good time. My wife died 4 years ago. So as time passes i am getting more and more lonely and sad. is it normal to be this lonely?

    It's normal during the holidays and the situation you described with everyone going away DOES sound lonely *hugs*

    I'm not sure where you live, but there have to be things others in a similar position to you do to keep from being lonely. You've obviously got the internet available to you, go on it and find yourself something to do and be happy again.
    I know it's tough to make the effort, but it beats sitting around an empty house being miserable.
