Is it normal to lick the sticky stuff off soda cans before returning them?

Ok so this has become a problem for me recently and I never really thought it was weird till now.
But since i was in college i started returning the empty beer and soda cans the morning after big parties at our frat house.
I'd go to the bottle return at our local grocery store and I'd get sticky beer and soda residue all over my fingers and one time i tried it.
I licked my whole hand clean!

For some reason it just tasted amazing to me so I've done it ever since.
Sometimes I even drink the small pool of soda beer mix that collects at the bottom of the garbage bag i store my recyclables in.

I never found this odd until i was doing it at our local bottle return last week and an old lady saw me and reported me to the manager.
I was asked to leave and never return.

Please let me know if I'm normal
I need to know
I cannot change my behavior
So I'd at least like to now how the rest of the world sees it

    thats its, clean all that bacteria off those cans before recycling them. good job.

    You never found it odd that you were driking soda out of a garbage bag?. Id say stop as this probally wont have many major health effects as it is still only soda but it cant be healthy.

    I don't see why you would be reported if you were only drinking/licking the residue of the bottles you brought. That aside, this isn't normal at all and it can be a health hazard. You don't know what kind of conditions the people at the party who drunk out of those bottles might have. You don't even know if those bottles could have been spiked when they had liquid in them. You need to see a doctor 1. To get it into you exactly how dangerous this can be and 2. For testing. Just to make sure that you haven't caught anything from these used bottles. I don't suggest going to the medical centre at your college because if word gets out it could ruin your standing.

    I used to pull the old dried up gum from underneath the desks in elementary school. I thought to myself "Hmmm wonder what flavor this one is" and then chew it till I squeezed some flavor out of it. Kind of like a guessing game I guess.So yea I think your normal.
