Is it normal to know the words to "it's the end of the world as we know it"?

Is it normal to have spent like 2 or 3 whole hours of my childhood listening and re-listening to an REM casette, transcribing, and memorizing, all the crazed lyrics to "It's the End of the World as We Know It"? Is it normal to remember each and every word I learned, to this day?

I had to recite the prologue to the Cantebury tales in old English for school. We didn't need to memorize it, just recite it. I heard it 30 times in one day and I still remember every word. This was 15 years ago.

That song's intense, even Michael Stipes uses a cheat sheet in concert.

It's not that difficult of a song and since you took the time to learn the words obviously you'd know them.
