    The very first ticket I got was for going through a crosswalk when a person had stepped into it on the opposite side of the street.
    I don't believe that the law would accept the excuse that, "they waved me through".

    For some reason I read it as "fat kid on the crosswalk". Maybe it's because there are so many fat kids today.
