Is it normal to ignore a girl who likes you if you don't like her back?

So, I'm a 22 yr old gay guy.
7 years back, I met this girl, Jean, who used to hang out with me a lot. I was still in the closet then. I am just a regular guy, I play football, hang out with friends, and no one doubts my sexuality unless I tell them.
Now, Jean asked me out back when we were 16, I politely declined, but stayed friends with her.
Over the years, we joined different colleges, I made new friends, came out as gay, dated a few guys. Jean and I kinda drifted apart. But she apparently still has feelings for me, and doesn't believe I'm gay. Or that she can "change" me.
Thing is, it got too dramatic, she started acting too needy and would try to touch me and get physical despite me pushing her off. so I started ignoring her texts, calls, etc. She became obsessed and started sending me messages like, I'll come to your home and not leave, and started calling my family to know my whereabouts, posted weird stuff on my fb wall, as if I'm her boyfriend!
is it normal for me to ignore her? I'm scared of her , to be honest!

    In your specific case, I'd say its normal since she refuses to accept the way things are and is doing stalker type things. If it was just a case of "this girl likes me but I don't like her so I will ignore", then no, I dislike that kind of ignoring. I assume you've already told her (again) that you weren't interested? I suppose it'd be odd to respond now after ignoring but she needs to calm down.

    Just document all the creepy stuff she does and then give the evidence to the Police. It'll probably scare the shit out of her and she'll leave you alone.

        Yeah.. I blocked her on fb, Whatsapp, etc. after one incident. She keeps creating new anonymous profiles and sends me requests.

          Damn, she's a major league creeper. Whatever you do don't acknowledge her even in an angry confrontation because it will give her hope and that's the last thing you need. I don't know if she's stalking you in real life or to what extent she is but there's a possibility you might need to take out a restraining order on her.

          Just stick to your guns Brother, and lean on your partner, friends and family. If you're a person of faith I would say to pray for God's protection from her. Whatever you do don't feel guilty. You deserve peace and serenity.

          I've had friends who were stalked and I was stalked once in college. You'll be in my prayers! I'll also pray for this bat shit crazy chick that she gets the mental health care she needs.
