Is it normal to hyperventilate, shake/tremble whilst crying

I cried for about ten minutes nonstop. It was probably the most serious I ever have done ... I was uncontrollably breathing really rapidly and heavily; hyperventilating. After there were no more tears I had to try and get a deep breath.
