Is it normal to hear someone clap in house but no one did it?
Serious answers only, no trolls. I'll just delete that garbage in a second.
I live with my family and we were sat down in our kitchen just chilling/having a snack. It was pretty quiet because my Father was reading something and my Mother was watching the TV on low. All of a sudden we all hear a LOUD *CLAP!!!!* from 6 feet away from us. We were all mainly on the right side so it was like 6 feet away on the other side of the room. It was REALLY loud and they jumped. I didn't but I was all confused.
I googled it and found nothing but one article that said some people of a town started calling the police because they heard what sounded like shots/pops/loud noises coming from one end of their house and they thought it was an intruder. Apparently on further inspection, it was the house itself as it was cold out and the beginning of Winter. But their houses were made of aluminum/wood. Our house is made of brick. It is basically Spring now and it's cold outside still but we've not changed the heat settings or anything so it's not like the house could do that. Also it definitely sounded inside the house, not outside. My Mom said it sounded like it was 2 feet from her as she was the closest to it. I said I immediately thought you clapped but it wasn't her obviously as I saw her as I heard the noise. She said it was definitely in the house and my Father agreed.
There was nothing in that side of the room. It was just a table on a rug...We have a dog and he was sat down right by my Mother's legs so it wasn't him either. No one else was in the house. It was REALLY loud, not mild or moderate. It sounded like someone clapped over a loudspeaker sort of thing..it was that loud and it didn't sound like a pop, it was more like a clap as we all agree on that.
Is this normal? Has anyone ever heard this before? Tell me it's normal, thanks.
Also, this was in our living room where we don't have any TV or electronic devices. We thought maybe it was a weird phone issue but we realized all our phones were in our bedrooms nowhere near the sound.
