Is it normal to hear a parent calling your name and they didn't call you?

Is it normal that sometimes i hear one of my parents voice calling me ,like saying my name and when i answer they tell me that they didn't call me, even though the voice i hear is their same voice ?!, also is it normal that one time i was with my mother and sisters in a mall in a section in a mall( we all went as a family there) yet my father didn't come with us to that section , anyways the three of us heard him calling my mother's name , and it was his voice , because the three of us answered , and when we looked for him he was no where near ,and we asked him if he called my mother, he told us that he wasn't even in the mall.

    It used to happen to me on an almost daily basis. I'd stop and think "Was that a real call or did I imagine it?" My mum has such a harsh and shrill accent, though, that if you make her call you a second time, there's no mistaking it. Animals flee the city!

    I believe this is usually normal.

    Some experts actually say that it is a sign of being mentally/emotionally healthy if you hear people saying your name. If this happens really often or in strange circumstances then I'm not sure though. You are probably very normal!

    I was going through a busy time in my life about a month ago. And I was SICK of all the people who wanted to talk to me!!! It started to slow down, but even after that I kept thinking someone was calling me. And I'd be like "Did you call me?" And they'd say no.. I felt crazy lol It isn't happening anymore, but it was weird.

    I thought , swore, I heard my mom shout "Don't go in the water" when I was at the beach. It sounded just like her, but she said she didn't. And there was no one else near us. So I have no idea what it was? Maybe God saving me from a shark XD

    This seriously happened to me two nights ago.
    It was about 2am, and someone CLEARLY called my name from in the house.
    Since my kids call me Dad, and I haven't got any one else here presently (ie I'm not alone ALL everyday) it was mega spooky.

    They called my name.
    I got startled, and immediately turned around and said 'Yes?' (within a split second)
    And NO ONE was there

    Now I'm not a believer in ghosts or any other supernatural. I use full logic and rational thinking.
    My only answer is my mind was playing tricks on me. Although I don't know how my mind threw a voice about 4 feet back from me?

    Not only that but usually your mind plays tricks on you when things happen often normally.
    ie In your case, your parents often call your name. Your brain could have easily made you 'think' they were calling you (also the mall one, was just a similar sounding person obviously)

    But in my case, there is no 'normal' calling of my name in my day to day, week by week etc life. So I found that once only instance a bit of a concern.
    I remeber reading that book when I was in school 'I heard an owl call my name' (or something like that) anyway it was about when you find out you are going to die. So this name calling, has had me a little concerned, but I continue on as it MUST have been me being tired late at night, with my brain playing tricks on me.
