Is it normal to have this internal conflict?

It seems logical to not want any problems, but when there are no problems, things are boring. But when there are problems, you want to solve them, but when you do, usually another one comes up, and now you wish you only had to deal with the previous one. But now, when the problems are all solved, then there’s nothing to do, and you’re back to square one.

What can I do to find balance and ease of mind?

I feel like life is one big problem to solve after another one. If you get really good at solving them maybe you'll be successful

Find a hobby. Read a book. Write a story. Get that active mind to be productive

I’m the exact same, I love a chaotic atmosphere to work and live in, it gives me more to do.

I found a good solution to this is to periodicly kill off one of your friends. This creates tension, especially when they figure out one of us is doing it. It also makes for an interesting game of cat and mouse with the police, although I must say, I'm not always the mouse ;)
