Is it normal to have reoccurring dreams of dead pets still being alive?

So at least maybe 5 times a year i have a dream about a once beloved pet from the past, i mean many years ago, not like im still mourning them. But in the dreams its as if they had never died in the first place and I just remembered that they're still alive and I havent been taking care of them. Basically neglecting them without food and water for the last however many years in.my closet.
Its usually one of my pet hamsters or gerbils that I have these.I know its strange but I've had so many of these exact kind of dreams, and I can barely remember the names of these pets!

    I have the exact same dream about my gerbil but it happens like once a week and my gerbil has been gone for about 4 years... I wonder what that means...

    My pet rabbit died and I never mourned his death. years later I had a dream that I found his rotten corpse in a box hidden in a closet. I exclaimed, "I haven't seen you in so long!" excitedly and took it out and started hugging and playing with it like it was normal. Then I buried him in an ornate elaborate coffin. Maybe it has something to do with not mourning enough? idk.

    your dreams are definately odd but normal...perhapse you feel you are neglecting something in your current life and this is your mind's way of bringing it up/dealing with it
